I am a 20 something living in Colorado with Lyme Disease. Before I go any further, I am not very good at talking, let alone writing about myself, so this bio will be short and straight to the point (as everything should be). I have lived in Colorado my whole life and I have a fairly large family. I have had Lyme Disease since 2012, diagnosed in 2015. Currently, I have a part-time job as a virtual teacher and am thankful that I have the opportunity to work.
One of my least favorite questions is “What do you do for fun/on the weekends?” I get embarrassed because my idea of ‘fun’ is so much different than the rest of the worlds. For ‘fun’ I like to read, lie in the sun, ride my bike, and drink coffee. Usually my days are filled with work, treatments, medicine, trying to figure out what I want/can eat, resting, and taking care of myself.
As a disclaimer, I am not a writer or a doctor. Obviously I took writing classes in school, but I was never at the top of my class and those classes seem like such a long time ago. To make matters worse, I am not good at expressing any sort of feelings or emotions, so this should be fun. I have learned a lot about my own chronic illness but by no means can speak with doctor-type-authority.
